Hello, Hello!

I was reminded today that I haven’t blogged in a little bit (thanks Steph J).  Sorry bout that.
Oh yes, the kids had their sibling class last week and oh my goodness, our son is a goof!  Once they all got their babies to pretend with and were sitting there all nice pretending to feed the baby a bottle, Blake farted so loud and the whole class cracked up laughing!!!  Of course though, Josh and I were both totally mortified.  I guess that’s a boy for you!  The class itself was decent enough but it was pretty much review for Blake and Syd as we’ve talked about this whole process quite a lot.  Blake has always been more interested in knowing what’s going on with Mason on any given day, so we do a lot of reading and such.  Oh well though, was decent enough.  Josh had his ‘Dads on Deck’ class this past Saturday and he said it was really good.  Despite learning a lot in our ‘Preparing for Childbirth’ class, he said he learned even more at this class and thought it was pretty cool that the class was really geared towards the dad and from a dad’s prospective.  He took a whole lot of notes as well.

And yep, we're still practicing on Mooson here and there--->

Our one year wedding anniversary was Sunday, September 19th, and it was just as beautiful of a day as it was a year ago although a bit warmer.  We didn’t do much to celebrate the day in terms of going out or anything like that- instead, Josh made breakfast (and made me freshly squeezed orange juice- YUM!), then for whatever reason, we both started doing some mega cleaning.  I’m talking dusting the tops of the kitchen cupboards and cleaning out cupboards, then we made our way downstairs and cleaned out the kids’ toy room, then organized the living area down there.  Needless to say, there are a lot of homeless spiders in our house (and soon enough they’ll be lifeless too as we keep killing those pesky spiders we see).
Oh, forgot to mention, I did start taking my heparin shots- Josh hates giving them to me as much as I hate getting them.  The medicine really burns like crazy and it just plain ol’ hurts.  I’ve got a few tiny bruises on my belly already.  I’m supposed to take two shots a day, but I haven’t quite been able to get that far yet- I get so stressed out just from thinking about the shots, that we’re lucky to do our one a day.  It just depends… I’ve been a bit uncomfortable this week, so I’ve been trying to lay low.    I just hope Mason is still in the head down position and my weight gain is still low!  We have another appointment with MaryAnne on Monday so we'll see.
So that’s about it for now.  Not too much going on this coming week, so that’s kind of a good thing.

Syd had a game this past weekend too (Blake’s got rained out).  I was so proud of her!!  I took a lot of pictures as Josh was at class.

First Game, Baby Shower, 32 Week Appt

We had a very good week this last week, but definitely a busy one.  As we await Mason’s arrival, we’re trying to get as much done as we can otherwise, so this week is going to be a bit more crammed with things to do and get done. But, let’s back up for a second—This last Saturday was Blake’s first flag football game and should’ve been Sydney’s first cheerleading performance at the Rocket Football game.  We didn’t make it to Sydney’s game, but I’ll get to that in a second.  Blake looked so small out there on the football field with his other teammates.  Although a bit frustrating at times, Josh and I are so proud of Blake and how he played.  He’s got a bit of work to do as he forgot a few things he was taught, but we both enjoyed watching him play.

(Blake has the ball)

From Blake’s game, we headed to Muskegon for the Booker/Bosma Baby Mason Shower.  With good company and yummy food, it was a nice afternoon to celebrate Mason’s pending arrival.  We were given a stroller/carseat combo which is awesome, so if Mason came today, we could at least bring him home!  Our family also gave us lots of other great things as well- Thank you all!  I did pretty well not getting all emotional until I read Ed’s card though—thanks Ed!

Thanks Joanna & Sue for the pictures :)  This last one is of our tree that was given to us as a wedding gift from a friend of mine.  We planted it at Ed & Sue's house so we can always enjoy it no matter where we live.  (Assuming they still live there :)  It's going to be a beautiful tree in the Fall when it gets a little bigger!

Let’s see- what else has happened since I last blogged?  Well, in Sydney’s class the kids have an opportunity to run for Class President once a month.  These Class Presidents help the teacher and their fellow classmates and are the all around ‘go to’ person for things.  Sydney and I worked on her poster (with the help of photoshop and quick prints) and it looked so good!  She didn’t ‘win’ this month, but I got teary eyed as she walked into school with her poster as she really is all of those things and more.  She’s a great kid with a huge heart!

We also had our 32 week appointment with MaryAnne yesterday (Monday).  We’re doing well- measuring 33cm for 32 weeks, and Mason is head down!!  (Hopefully he’ll stay that way though…..)  I am happy that I only gained 2.4 pounds in this past 3 weeks, which brings me up to 25 pounds so far for weight gain.  I’m supposed to gain about a pound a week now, which puts me in the 25-35 recommended weight gain ballpark.  From gaining 50 pounds with Sydney and Blake EACH, I’m very happy with this gain.  MaryAnne guesses that Mason weighs about 5-5 1/2 pounds about now as well :)

Oh, quick update on the garage- AWESOME!  We pulled everything out, scrubbed the floors, built some shelves plus bought a nice closed door shelf.  It seems almost everything has a ‘home’ out there now with plenty of room to spare.  I’m excited as I have not been able to park in the garage in a number of months.  I’m glad it’s been nice out, but that nice weather is quickly leaving us.  But whew, what a chore that garage was!!  It was definitely a family effort- Josh and myself, Sydney and Blake, and my brother came over to help carry some of the bigger (aka really heavy) stuff downstairs into the basement.  Thanks Donnie!  So, I think that’s about it from what’s been going on with us.

Tonight is the Sibling Class for Sydney and Blake to prepare for Mason- should be fun!  Until next time….

PS: Almost forgot-

Josh took a few pictures of me over the weekend.  We're at 31 Weeks with about 9(ish) to go!!!  YAY!  We have an appointment with MaryAnne (our midwife) next Monday.

First Day of School!!!

It's so hard for me to believe that the kids are going back to school so soon.  I guess that pretty much officially means our Summer is over and Fall is coming oh so quick.  Blake is a 2nd grader this year and Sydney is a 4th grader.  I did pretty well walking them in this year- no tears.  Blake was so excited to have some familiar friends in his class that he was halfway down the hall towards his classroom before Sydney and I were even in the building!  Sydney as usual, had a slow start walking into the building- she's quite the popular girl!  It was also great to see so many familiar faces to me as well!

I'm so excited for them, yet wonder what I'm going to do with all of my newly found 'kid free' time?  I guess for me for today, it's cleaning out the garage!!  Should be fun!
